FloorScore® isn't just a self-awarded sticker or a one-time test. To earn and keep certification through SCS Global Services, flooring must undergo continuous third-party scrutiny:
FloorScore® is the recognized independent certification standard for hard surface flooring materials and adhesives. Developed by the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) in partnership with SCS Global Services, the program tests and certifies products to ensure they meet strict indoor air quality standards.
Specifically, FloorScore® tests for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)—carbon-based chemicals that easily evaporate into the air at room temperature. High VOC levels can cause indoor odor, eye and throat irritation, headaches, or dizziness.
When a floor carries the FloorScore® seal, it means an independent laboratory verified that the product meets the strict VOC emission limits set by the California Section 01350 Program (one of the most rigorous indoor air quality standards in North America).
Hard surface resilient floors like luxury vinyl roll, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), and rigid core are naturally easy to clean and do not trap dust, pollen, or pet dander the way soft materials can. When you combine those natural maintenance perks with low-VOC FloorScore® certification, you get a foundation that actively supports a cleaner, fresher indoor atmosphere.
In addition to home wellness, FloorScore® certified floors contribute to major green building standards, including:
At Beauflor, we believe you should never have to choose between stunning interior design and a healthy living environment. Whether you are remodeling a busy family kitchen, setting up a home office, or updating a commercial space, choosing FloorScore® certified flooring gives you peace of mind from day one.
